Job Summary:

Capital One is seeking an Automation Engineer to join our team. As an Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and executing automation tests to ensure sufficient test coverage of Payment Application and APIs. You will also develop testing scenarios/cases to address areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, regression testing, boundary/negative testing, error or defect retests, usability; including automated scripts. Additionally, you will develop high-quality automation test engineering best practices, test strategy, and principles. You will design test plans, scenarios, scripts, and/or procedures to determine product quality or release readiness. You will follow defect tracking processes; including software defect documentation, defect tracking tool (JIRA, Version1) utilization, ensuring open defects are monitored and escalated as needed based on aging and priority. You will partner with Software Engineers, System Integrators, Product Owners to deliver high-performing quality customer experiences that are engaging, purposeful, and powerful in their simplicity. You will closely monitor industry trends and progress in the automation tool space, develop proof of concepts as needed to validate the potential impact to our test delivery process. You will participate in automation script code reviews and provide guidance on their compliance with automation best practices. You will have demonstrated skills using code repositories like GitHub. You will gain experience using CI/CD with Hudson/Jenkins in parallel tools. You will interact with the product delivery team; participate in product requirement/design reviews to provide input on completeness of functional requirements, product designs, and schedules. You will identify interdependencies, ambiguities, or omissions, and make suggestions to improve requirements and ensure usability/testability. You will review software documentation to ensure technical accuracy, compliance, or completeness, with focus to mitigate risks.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree
At least 1.5 years of experience in test automation using Cucumber, Selenium, and Java (Internship experience does not apply)

Preferred Qualifications:
2+ years experience with Agile
2+ years of experience in functional end-to-end testing
2+ years of experience in automated regression testing
1+ years of experience with API Testing
1+ years of experience in Acceptance Test Driven Development (ATDD) methodology
1+ years of experience with Rest Assured, Ready API, Postman
1+ years experience with AWS
