Position Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Senior Facilities Engineer who specializes in refrigeration systems, particularly with rooftop units. The successful candidate will be adept at the maintenance, servicing, and repair of refrigeration equipment in both commercial and industrial environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond efficiently and courteously to requests from tenants and management.
  • Ensure adherence to safety and environmental standards.
  • Manage inventory and procurement of parts and supplies.
  • Oversee the operation and scheduling of HVAC and MEP systems.
  • Act as the lead engineer in the absence of the primary property engineer.
  • Maintain daily logs and conduct visual inspections of equipment.
  • Effectively prioritize and manage multiple incoming requests.
  • Utilize the CMMS system to complete work orders.
  • Independently operate, maintain, and repair building systems.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and repairs on electrical and plumbing systems.
  • Keep comprehensive records of all equipment and activities.
  • Coordinate with cleaning staff as necessary.
  • Draft detailed reports of incidents and occurrences.
  • Repair and maintain various building components including equipment, doors, walls, ceilings, light fixtures, plumbing fixtures, roofs, locks, and keys.

Qualifications:
  • At least 10 years of experience in building engineering.
  • Proficient in working with chillers, boilers, pumps, and large tonnage systems.
  • Preferred certifications include High Pressure Boiler Operator's License and Refrigeration Operator License.
  • EPA 608 Universal Certification is a plus.
  • Strong grasp of HVAC, refrigeration, and heating principles.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair various building systems effectively.
  • Skilled in balancing air and water treatment systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret schematics and blueprints.
  • Familiarity with basic and power tools.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Physical Requirements:
  • Capability to climb ladders and stairs, and stand for extended periods.
  • Access to remote areas such as crawl spaces and roofs.
  • Full manual dexterity for various physical tasks.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs and work in diverse environmental conditions.

Other Requirements:
  • Maintain positive interactions with co-workers, tenants, contractors, and the public.
  • Availability to work after hours, on holidays, and weekends as necessary.
