Position Overview:
The Vice President of Underwriting Sales plays a pivotal role in our organization, focusing on the development and expansion of a comprehensive sales strategy that maximizes our diverse media offerings. This executive will lead our sales initiatives, driving revenue growth while enhancing the performance of our underwriting sales team. The VP will prioritize delivering tailored advertising solutions that resonate with our audience across multiple channels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and implement a robust sales strategy that aligns with the organization's growth objectives.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing sales team to surpass revenue goals and provide outstanding client service.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, promoting professional development and collaboration within the team.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the digital advertising landscape, identifying trends and opportunities for innovation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing and analytics, to ensure cohesive strategies that maximize revenue potential.
  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with key clients and industry stakeholders.
  • Oversee daily sales strategy execution, promotions, and operational decisions.
  • Develop and present sales forecasts and strategic plans.
  • Manage departmental activities, including pricing strategies and compliance oversight.
  • Lead revenue generation efforts through underwriting, advertising, and sponsorship initiatives.
  • Recruit, train, and manage staff through effective coaching and performance evaluations.
  • Report on revenue progress to senior leadership and stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required, along with a minimum of 8-10 years in media sales and management, including supervisory experience.

Essential Skills and Attributes:

  • Solution-oriented with exceptional listening and communication skills.
  • In-depth understanding of market dynamics and client needs.
  • Ability to prioritize underwriting sales across various media platforms.
  • Proficient in building and maintaining client relationships.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities, including confidence, judgment, and integrity.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with industry tools such as Tapscan, Media Audit, and Scarborough.
  • Knowledge of marketing principles related to radio, events, and digital media.
