Behavior Specialist

Girl Scouts of Western New York Inc is seeking a highly motivated Behavior Specialist - Camp Ambassador to join our team.

This pivotal position plays a critical role in ensuring the well-being and success of our campers. As a Behavior Specialist - Camp Ambassador, you will provide emotional support, guidance, and conflict resolution skills to staff members who require assistance dealing with challenging situations. Your expertise will be invaluable in creating a safe, nurturing environment for everyone.

• Develop professional goals aligned with GSWNY's mission and camp objectives.
• Collaborate with the camp administrative team to design and implement training schedules.
• Conduct research and deliver trainings on conflict resolution, behavior management, child development, and effective communication strategies.
• Review camper information and create individualized plans to accommodate campers with special needs.
• Maintain confidentiality and report any serious incidents or concerns to the Camp Director promptly.
• Intervene in situations that may impact camper-staff relationships and experiences.
• Ensure proper application of behavior management techniques in conflicts with children.
• Stay available to campers and staff, prioritizing the needs of the camp community.
• Maintain a professional demeanor, modeling responsible behavior for staff and campers alike.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
• Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
• Professionalism at all times, with excellent communication skills (oral and written).
