Key Responsibilities:

  • Gather, process, evaluate, interpret, safeguard, and present digital evidence.
  • Conduct forensic triage during incidents, assessing scope, urgency, and potential ramifications.
  • Analyze forensic images and available evidence to create comprehensive forensic reports.
  • Maintain meticulous documentation of forensic analysis from initiation to resolution.
  • Establish and document forensic workflows adhering to industry best practices.
  • Investigate data breaches using both traditional and cloud-specific forensic tools to identify sources of compromise.
  • Support incident response efforts, executing forensic investigations, managing security incidents, and offering long-term remediation strategies.
  • Develop and refine procedures to meet discovery process requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to chain of custody best practices in line with evidence rules.
  • Guide team members in incident response and forensic methodologies to foster additional resources for extensive collection activities.

Essential Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of the forensic lifecycle and evidence acquisition across diverse devices.
  • Experience in forensic analysis across various platforms, including:
    • Cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP)
    • Operating Systems (Windows, Mac, Linux)
    • Network devices and platforms (both physical and virtual)
  • Familiarity with SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS models.
  • Ability to analyze and characterize cloud-specific cyber threats.
  • Proficient in identifying various attack classes and stages.
  • Understanding of system and application security vulnerabilities.
  • Capability to document forensic workflows grounded in industry standards.
  • Proficient in proactive system and network analysis, including trust level creation and cloud authentication methods.
  • Experience in reactive incident response within public cloud environments.
  • Ability to analyze logs from compute, storage, network, IAM, Kubernetes, and serverless architectures to uncover malicious activities.
  • Familiarity with APIs for integration purposes.
  • Proficient in writing custom queries for major SIEM tools and SQL for data warehouse databases.
  • Experience with forensic tools such as EnCase, FTK, X-Ways, and open-source alternatives.
  • 6+ years of experience in incident response or digital forensics, with a strong passion for cybersecurity.
  • Hands-on experience in architecting and troubleshooting complex cloud environments.
  • Ability to demonstrate best practices for scalable operations in multi-cloud environments.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant industry certifications such as CISSP, SANS GIAC, or AWS certifications.
  • Familiarity with various security domains including Incident Response, Threat Intelligence, and Cloud Security.
  • Networking experience with routing protocols and technologies.
  • Knowledge of detection tools like Nessus and Qualys.
  • Experience with web application attack methodologies.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
