Work Schedule and Compensation

The work schedule is Monday through Thursday, from 3:30 PM to 1:30 AM, totaling 10 hours per day. Occasional overtime may be necessary. The qualified pay rate is $33.99 per hour; the training rate is $31.99 per hour until deemed qualified, plus a shift pay premium of $0.70 per hour.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a variety of machinery, including water trucks, front-end loaders, tractors, dozers, grade-alls, bobcats, rock trucks, and hammer mills, to load trucks, transport rock and other materials, pile stock, load hoppers, and maintain work areas.
  • Regularly inspect equipment to ensure proper operation; address issues such as tire inflation, brakes, oil and air pressure, and fluid levels; report any significant mechanical malfunctions requiring repair; perform minor repairs and adjustments as needed.
  • Guide truck drivers to ensure proper positioning for material loading; maintain and grade roads as necessary.
  • May perform manual tasks such as shoveling and sweeping to facilitate the movement of materials and ensure proper maintenance of equipment and work areas.
  • Complete pre-trip inspection checklists, operating reports, repair requests, and other required documentation; maintain equipment and work areas in a safe and clean condition.
  • Perform cleanup duties throughout the facility.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education and Qualifications

A high school diploma or GED is required. Trade school or college coursework is preferred, or equivalent work experience. A valid driver's license is also required.

Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience operating heavy machinery, including tractors, dozers, front-end loaders, water trucks, and rock trucks.
  • Knowledge and experience in basic maintenance and mechanics of various types of equipment.
  • Ability to sit, stand, stoop, and bend for extended periods (up to 10 hours).
  • Ability to walk on various surfaces, including uneven and slippery ground.
  • Physical capability to climb on and off equipment regularly.
  • Must use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment as required.
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 70 lbs.
  • Ability to work in environments with heat, dust, vibration, heights, and confined spaces.
  • Must be able to walk long distances, climb ladders and stairs, and crawl into confined spaces.
  • Ability to see and hear safety indicators and warnings.
  • Must be prepared to work in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, wet, dry, and dusty environments.
  • Exposure to noise levels that may require hearing protection.
  • Exposure to materials such as cement, clay, limestone, and various chemicals.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English, including reading, writing, and following directions.
  • Ability to accurately interpret written instructions on a daily basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a cement manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with crushing and screening systems.
  • Preferred knowledge of equipment used in cement manufacturing.
