Job Summary

We are seeking highly skilled and compassionate Staff Nurses to join our team at the Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center. As a Staff Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and contributing to our mission of changing medicine and changing lives.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality patient care, applying nursing theory to assess, diagnose, treat, and evaluate patient responses to health and illness.
  • Assess patient health care preferences and expectations, collaborating with patients and families to develop individualized care plans.
  • Coordinate the continuum of care across settings, ensuring seamless transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Develop and implement patient care plans, based on patient condition, age, and psychological, educational, and socioeconomic conditions.
  • Implement nursing interventions according to department, division, and/or unit policies, procedures, and protocols, maintaining a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
Requirements
  • Current license to practice in the state of Iowa by the time of hire.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • General computer skills, with proficiency in electronic health records systems.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment, with a focus on collaboration and mutual respect.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing or Masters Degree in Nursing, with oncology experience and EPIC system proficiency highly desired.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $60,589 to commensurate, based on experience and effort. Our comprehensive benefits package includes paid vacation, sick leave, health, dental, life, and disability insurance options, and generous employer contributions into retirement plans.
