Position Overview:
The Hospitalist plays a crucial role in managing the care of adult patients admitted to the hospital, serving as either the admitting or consulting physician.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive medical care to hospitalized patients.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
- Ensure adherence to best practices and clinical guidelines.
Qualifications:
Applicants must possess an MD or DO degree, along with Board Certification in the relevant specialty. A strong background in managing hospitalized patients is essential. Candidates must hold a valid medical license from the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners and maintain good standing with the St. Tammany Parish Hospital Medical Staff.
Physical Requirements:
Ideal candidates should demonstrate good physical health, with the ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods. Lifting a minimum of 20 pounds is necessary, and the capacity to work in a moderately noisy environment is required.

- Frequent (34%-66%): reaching
- Occasional (1%-33%): lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, climbing, balancing, stooping, crouching
