Pharmacy Technician II Job Description

Mayo Clinic is a world-renowned healthcare organization that values excellence and innovation. As a Pharmacy Technician II, you will play a vital role in providing optimal pharmaceutical care to patients.

Responsibilities
  • Assist pharmacists in providing pharmaceutical care to patients
  • Gather, label, and distribute medications accurately and efficiently
  • Package, prepare, and safely compound medications, including hazardous substances
  • Handle, manage, and distribute controlled substances in compliance with regulatory requirements and department policies
  • Assist with training new pharmacy staff
  • Maintain accurate medication inventories and billing of medications
  • Effectively communicate using established systems and processes
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • At least 6 months of applicable experience as a Pharmacy Technician
  • Effective reading, writing, speaking, and understanding of English
  • Proven history of performing technical tasks and following written/verbal instructions
  • Ability to apply math and calculator skills, as well as a working knowledge of the metric system
  • Strong telephone and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with office software, computer applications, and keyboarding
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a busy environment and pay attention to detail
  • Proven organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment
Benefits
  • Competitive compensation: $19.57 - $27.02/hour
  • Benefits eligible
  • Full-time schedule: 80 hours/pay period
  • Combination of day and evening shifts, including swing shifts
  • Every other weekend
