Position Overview

As a Nondestructive Testing Apprentice, you will support experienced inspectors in evaluating the integrity of various structures, pipelines, and materials through advanced testing methods such as x-ray and ultrasound.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation and operation of equipment for non-destructive testing in compliance with relevant codes and standards.
  • Participate in conducting various NDT inspections, including gamma radiography, x-ray radiography, magnetic particle testing, liquid penetrant testing, ultrasonic testing, leak detection, and visual assessments.
  • Support the execution of NDT techniques by selecting, preparing, calibrating, and operating the necessary equipment.
  • Help identify material defects using established testing methodologies.
  • Operate company vehicles while adhering to safety protocols and maintaining a clean driving record.
  • Learn from Lead Technicians by engaging in hands-on training for advanced tasks.
  • Follow safety instructions to ensure the well-being of the entire team.
Additional Duties
  • Perform routine cleaning and minor maintenance on company vehicles and equipment, ensuring a safe and organized work environment.
  • Carry out other assigned responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
  • Mechanical Aptitude - Basic understanding of mechanical principles.
  • Safety Awareness - Familiarity with safety regulations and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Work Ethic - Ability to manage a demanding and flexible schedule, including extended hours and travel.
  • Physical Requirements - Capability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds regularly and up to 150 pounds with assistance, along with various physical activities.
  • Professionalism - Maintain a professional appearance and conduct at all times.
  • Customer Interaction - Provide courteous service and maintain punctuality.
  • Team Collaboration - Work effectively within a team and adhere to specific instructions.
Education and Experience

High School Diploma or GED is required. A valid driver's license and insurability through the company's insurance provider are mandatory. Previous experience in a related field is preferred.
