Job Description

Industrial Trade Services is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Maintenance Mechanic to perform a variety of tasks related to the installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and machinery. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical maintenance and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, layout plans, and vendor installation and operation manuals to determine work procedures.
  • Dismantle machines using hand tools and power tools.
  • Move machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks.
  • Assemble and install equipment, such as shafting, conveyors, and tram rails, using cranes, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Construct foundations for machines using hand tools and building materials, such as wood, cement, and steel.
  • Align machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, and plumb bobs.
  • Must have knowledge of optical and laser alignments.
  • Assemble machines and bolts, welds, rivets, or otherwise fastens them to foundation or other structures using hand tools and power tools.
  • May operate engine lathe to grind, file, and turn machine parts to dimensional specifications.
  • May install robots and modify their programs using teach pendants.
  • May use transits and levels for equipment setting.
  • Loads, transports, and unloads materials, tools, equipment, and supplies.
  • Performs lubricating maintenance, cleaning activities, or repair of tools, machines, and equipment.
  • Responsible for observing and complying with all safety and project rules.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Plan work and select proper tools.
  • Compare and see differences in the size, shape, and form of lines, figures, and objects.

  • Operate machinery.
  • Work at heights without fear.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to sit; use hands and fingers to feel, handle, or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Qualifications:

May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
