Job Summary

The Fitness Equation is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Manager to support the Kidz Gym Director and work with Kidz Gym staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a positive attitude and focus on delivering exceptional member experiences, interacting with children in a positive and age-appropriate manner.
  • Promote a professional and motivating personal appearance to inspire members and encourage their commitment to personal health.
  • Ensure the Kidz Gym is safely and appropriately maintained, promoting cleanliness and organization.
  • Assist and supervise children during all activities in the Kidz Gym, providing a safe and engaging environment.
  • Work with plans and prepare materials for classroom activities, communicate effectively with parents, and maintain developmental profiles for children.
  • Organize and participate in recreational and educational activities, such as games, drawing, handicrafts, and reading to children.
  • Maintain discipline and initiate measures to control behavior, ensuring a positive and respectful environment.
  • Keep security records on individual children, ensuring all necessary registration forms are on file.
  • Organize and store toys and materials to maintain order in the Kidz Gym area.
  • Support children's emotional and social development, encouraging understanding of others and positive self-concepts.
  • Teach Super Kidz Ninja Warrior program classes and participate in all other Kidz Gym programs.

Requirements:

  • Prior work experience in a daycare/childcare environment.
  • H.S. diploma or GED minimum.
  • Current CPR/AED certification, Infant and Child First Aid and CPR certification required.
  • Excellent communication skills with children and adults (parent/legal guardian) required.
  • Ability to make children feel secure and take initiative and prioritize tasks.
  • Punctual and high level of communication with club management regarding any inability to fulfill obligations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • B.A. or B.S. in recreation, fitness, business management or related field preferred.
  • 1+ year of movement education, childhood-development experience.
