Job Summary

As an Automation and Controls Specialist at Graybar, you will play a crucial role in supporting the sales of high-tech automation and control products. You will work closely with branch personnel to identify opportunities for products to satisfy customer needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Specify products to meet customer requirements and needs
  • Recommend inventory of automation products
  • Inform sales staff and customers of new developments in automation and related products technology
  • Provide technical services to customers for the operation and maintenance of automation equipment
  • Provide technical support of automation and control products to customers and Company personnel and new product updates
Requirements
  • Minimum 1 year of experience required in progressively more responsible sales, marketing, and/or field experience
  • 2 year degree required, Technical college or equivalent
  • 6+ years experience preferred
  • Knowledge of high-tech automation and control products
  • Knowledge of engineering principles related to customer automation products
  • Knowledge of suppliers' automation products
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Interpersonal, organizational and team building skills
  • Ability to work effectively with management and evaluate customer needs
  • Ability to clearly present complex solutions to non-technical staff
  • Ability to make oral and written presentations to internal and external contacts
  • Extensive travel required
Benefits
  • The expected pay rate for this position is starting at $85,000.00 annually subject to increase based on experience
  • The position is also eligible for bonus incentives, based on specific and relevant business metrics
