About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Manager to lead our Inpatient Mental Health team at the Department of Veterans Affairs. As a key member of our nursing leadership team, you will be responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement nursing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.
  • Lead and manage a team of nursing staff to provide patient-centered care and achieve excellent patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans that meet the unique needs of our veteran patients.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to nursing staff to enhance their skills and knowledge and support their professional development.
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of patient care and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Develop and manage budgets to ensure effective resource allocation and optimize patient care outcomes.
Requirements
  • Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the United States, or the District of Columbia.
  • Minimum of 5 years professional nursing practice, mental health preferred.
  • Experience in leadership roles, with a proven track record of success in managing teams and improving patient outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed decisions and take calculated risks.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
