You will also be responsible for selecting, developing, and retaining staff, as well as overseeing clinical supervision and performance appraisal. Key Responsibilities
  • Support the manager in enhancing the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice, administration, and care delivery in the department.
  • Assist with the interview, selection, and supervision of nursing personnel in the department.
  • Coordinate communication among team members through regular staff meetings and huddles.
  • Collaborate with the manager to ensure compliance with federal and state laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Round on patients, teammates, and physicians to gain insight into patient care, employee, and physician satisfaction.
  • Delegate elements of care to appropriate healthcare workers in accordance with applicable laws and policies.
  • Assist in identifying expected outcomes and providing direction for continuity of care and department operations.
  • Perform nursing care, assist with treatments, therapies, procedures, and administer medications as necessary.
  • Coordinate management of patient flow and staffing through continuous assessment of volume and acuity needs.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Current RN licensure in the appropriate state.
  • Minimum two years of nursing experience, with previous management experience preferred.
  • BSN required; RN candidates without a BSN must be enrolled in a BSN program within one year of hire and complete the program within three years.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Appropriate professional certification (clinical or leadership) required within one year of eligibility.
