The primary responsibility of the Rehabilitation Support Specialist is to implement all restorative nursing treatments while assisting with administrative tasks as needed. This role will work closely with the Director of Nursing and the Administrator.

A valid STNA License is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute daily restorative nursing programs as instructed by the Restorative Nurse and Director of Nursing.
  • Facilitate the transportation of residents to the dining area for restorative feeding sessions.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate records of residents participating in restorative nursing care.
  • Ensure residents are equipped with shirt protectors during meals and removed afterwards.
  • Monitor residents to guarantee they receive appropriate food and drink, addressing any difficulties they may encounter.
  • Manage the removal and replacement of resident restraints during dining times.
  • Apply splints to residents at scheduled intervals.
  • Support residents boarding and disembarking from transportation, ensuring all necessary items are available.
  • Verify the functionality of all alarms, including WanderGuard systems.
  • Ensure residents wear suitable footwear for mobility.
  • Conduct restorative programs in residents' rooms when necessary.
  • Assist new residents in completing required paperwork from therapy and restorative departments.
  • Respond promptly to all call lights.
  • Provide assistance on the floor as needed.
  • Ensure all residents are measured on a quarterly basis.
  • Document and report any refusals from residents to participate in programs.
  • Communicate any changes in resident conditions to the Restorative Nurse and Director of Nursing.
