Role Overview: The successful candidate will conduct visual, electrical, and mechanical inspections throughout the assembly process, ensuring adherence to both company and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Confirm that prior operations have been completed and accepted.
  • Ensure that the assembly matches the work order/documentation in terms of part numbers, drawings, revisions, and necessary approvals.
  • Conduct visual inspections of electrical assemblies, including circuit boards and solder joints, to verify compliance with specifications.
  • Assess the physical condition of parts and assemblies against established industry workmanship standards.
  • Perform mechanical and dimensional inspections using precision tools such as scales, micrometers, and calipers.
  • Execute and verify requirements outlined in process specifications.
  • Provide informal training and support to less experienced inspectors, referencing relevant specifications and standards.
  • Review documentation for completeness, including Work Orders and Engineering Changes.
  • Validate assembly work order test results against established requirements.
  • Conduct assigned surveillance audits and inspections.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including Engineering and Production, to address assembly issues.
  • Report any assembly discrepancies to the inspection lead and generate necessary documentation.
  • Verify and document configuration for compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with J-STD-001 and/or IPC-A-610 standards.
  • Ability to interpret technical documents, including drawings and work instructions.
  • Proficient in measurements and mathematical calculations.
  • Familiarity with assembly practices and requirements.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and be willing to travel as needed.

Education: A High School Diploma or equivalent is required, along with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience or a 2-year degree with at least 2 years of related experience.

Preferred Skills:

  • Certification in a quality-related field from an accredited institution.
  • Knowledge of ANSI/J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, and IPC-620 standards.

Compensation: The salary range for this position is $44,500 - $82,500, with a comprehensive benefits package available.
