We are seeking a highly skilled Chief Financial Officer to lead our financial operations and drive strategic growth at Secure Community Network.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, with a proven track record of success in senior-level finance management roles. They will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations, including accounting, insurance, tax, and annual audit activities.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and overseeing all financial operations, including accounting, insurance, tax, and annual audit activities.
  • Providing expert guidance on all finance functions, including budgeting, forecasting, business analysis, and sustainability and growth strategies.
  • Collaborating with other departments to develop and implement the annual organizational budget, closely monitoring expenses, and forecasting growth strategies and business planning.
  • Developing and maintaining cash flow projections and strategies to ensure adequate liquidity to support operations.
  • Preparing timely and informative financial reports.
  • Managing relationship with banking partners, ensuring optimal terms for accounts and services.
  • Supporting key governance bodies, including the Finance Committee, Executive Committee, and Board of Directors.
  • Managing and optimizing operational structures in finance and related functions to enhance efficiency, maintain internal controls, and ensure compliance.
  • Reviewing and optimizing contracts and agreements in collaboration with the General Counsel to drive scalability and effectiveness.
  • Supervising and mentoring professional team, establishing department KPIs, and implementing recruitment, training, performance management, professional development, and capacity-building efforts for relevant staff.
  • Cultivating a culture of innovation to align operational performance with our mission.
  • Ensuring clarity and adherence to department-specific goals, policies, and procedures among direct reports.
  • Ensuring overall interoperability and cross-functionality with other components of the organization.

Requirements:

  • Advanced degree in accounting or finance.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a senior-level finance management role, including significant experience in a nonprofit environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with a successful track record of effectively mentoring, supervising, and leading direct reports while assessing their performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain the utmost integrity in handling confidential efforts and documents.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Success working in a collaborative environment.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, challenging, and fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to make independent and accurate decisions with tact and diplomacy.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of operational planning, policies, protocols, and procedures.
  • Exceptional professional judgment in dealing with entities from all sectors and other professionals in law enforcement, intelligence, and emergency management communities.
  • Proven ability to design, develop, and execute strategic plans and initiatives that drive organizational success.
  • Proficiency in using the Microsoft Office Suite.
