Job Overview:
Cook Children's Medical Center seeks a dedicated Child Development Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our psychiatric program, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to children and adolescents with complex needs. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people and their families.

About the Role:
This position involves assuming primary caretaker responsibilities for patients aged Pre-K through adolescents. Your duties will include managing daily activities, maintaining a safe environment, and addressing challenging behaviors. You will also participate in crisis intervention, teaching, group process, and on-call rotations as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Bachelor's degree required - preferably in psychology, child development, or a related field
  • Experience in inpatient or partial hospital psychiatric treatment preferred
  • Pediatric experience preferred
  • Child growth and development education required
  • CPR - BLS within 60 days of start date
  • CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention - Units 1-7 & 9-10 plus the CPI Children's Control Position from Unit 8 completed within 60 days of start date
