About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at West Virginia University Hospital, Inc. As an MRI Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a wide range of diagnostic procedures utilizing a magnetic resonance scanner.
  • Conduct imaging/therapeutic services and associated patient care to support the Radiology Department's mission.
  • Ensure MRI Safety precautions are in place for patients, families, co-workers, and other individuals.
  • Assess patient needs and provide imaging-related support for comfort, hygiene, and range of motion.
  • Prepare contrast agents according to procedural guidelines and protocols.
  • Educate patients regarding MRI procedures and contrast media.
  • Promote a team approach to providing Radiology services by interacting positively with technical, support, nursing, residents, and medical staff.
  • Engage in problem-solving, crisis management, and systems implementation to promote efficient, high-quality, cost-effective patient care.
  • Instruct MRI/Radiography students as needed in support of the radiology education program.
  • Display imaging techniques, patient care, and guest relation behaviors in accordance with the ARRT Code of Ethics, WVUH Administrative Policies and Procedures, Radiology Department Policies and Procedures, State and Federal Regulations, and The Joint Commission guidelines.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • MRI Certification through ARRT or ARMRIT within 1 year of hire.
  • West Virginia State Licensure as an MRI Tech, or applicable state licensure where services will be performed (excluding Pennsylvania).
  • Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire.

  • Ability to interact with patients, families, and members of the Health Care team.
  • Ability to prioritize and deal with a variety of situations at any given time.
  • Knowledge and Proficiency of Radiology information systems.
