Job Summary

This role is responsible for performing predictive and preventive maintenance analysis to anticipate and circumvent equipment failures, enhancing uptime and reducing costs.

The primary responsibilities include fabricating, steel, sheet metal, bending, machining, design, welding, and pipe fitting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform specialized technical tasks to support operations, including IT development, research support, and skilled trades.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment and systems, including mechanical and electrical.
  • Evaluate and recommend equipment improvements to enhance availability, capability, and yield.
  • Perform equipment failure analyses, including preventive and unscheduled maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment problems.
  • Prepare technical reports to document equipment modifications and maintenance procedures.
  • Prepare for new or relocated equipment installations by sizing, wiring, piping, ventilation, and other requirements.
  • Receive, rig, unload, transport, install, assemble, troubleshoot, and fine-tune new or relocated equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and perform necessary repairs on existing equipment.
  • Assist engineers in identifying worn or damaged parts needed for repairs.
  • Interface with and assist outside contractors, OEMs, and technology process support groups for new and repair or upgrade processes.
  • Safely handle hazardous materials and hazardous wastes.
  • Interface with the in-plant computerized machine maintenance system to show work status and time spent on jobs.

  • Works within standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods.
Education, Work Experience, Skills, Certificates

This role requires a minimum of 1-3 years of relevant work experience and may require vocational training or equivalent experience and external certification.

The ideal candidate should have basic math skills, ability to read and understand equipment manuals, work orders, schematics, and blueprints.

They should also be able to use a personal computer and various software, such as SAP MII, and have knowledge of schematics, multi-meter and ammeter utilization, 3-phase and single-phase motor control, PLC and ladder logic programming, soldering, mechanical, power tool usage, welding, pipe fitting, and pneumatics/hydraulics.

The candidate should be able to communicate verbally and in writing with plant personnel, supervisors, and managers.

They should have working knowledge and skills to perform a defined set of analytical/scientific methods or operational processes and apply experience and skills to complete assigned work within their area of expertise.

Required Licenses & Certificates
  • Must have successfully completed training for and is certified or pursuing certification as a State Journeyman, appropriate to plant location, in electrical or machine maintenance, or has 5 years or more documented maintenance repair experience in a manufacturing environment.
