Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Sanford Medical Center - Fargo is seeking a skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our team in the Adult ICU department.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced RRT to provide high-quality patient care in our Adult ICU. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in respiratory therapy, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess patients to prevent, detect, monitor, and manage disease and provide therapeutic interventions to improve cardiopulmonary health.
  • Educate patients on preventative care and self-management to enhance cardiopulmonary health and quality of life.
  • Conduct regular assessments of patients and equipment, adjusting therapy as necessary.
  • Collect and analyze patients' blood and other specimens to determine oxygen, carbon dioxide, and other gas levels.
  • Measure lung capacity to check for impairments.
  • Offer diagnostic results and treatment suggestions based on patient analysis.
  • Utilize equipment such as Epic computerized charting, Hamilton G5 & C1, V60, Airvo, CoughAssist, and more.
  • Work primarily in the NICU but may float to other units (Adult ICU, Pediatric ICU, etc.) as needed.
  • Participate in lab orientation and preceptor shifts with RT education staff and unit RTs.
  • Ability to handle quick changes in patient conditions and work independently or as part of a team.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 1 year of experience required, preferably with NICU, PICU, or Adult ICU.
  • ND license or willingness to obtain.
  • Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association), ACLS, PALS, NRP preferred, RRT - NBRC Certification (cannot accept CRT).
