Job Summary

We're seeking a highly skilled Structural Analyst II to join our team of problem solvers. As a key member of our rocket engine program, you will be responsible for designing and developing rocket engines and propulsion systems that meet our launch vehicle program requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Develop Component Finite Element Models (FEM) based on interaction with the design and engine system analysis team
  • Perform classic hand calculations and FEM Simulations of rocket engine hardware, including turbomachinery, manifolds, and thrust chambers
  • Use structural analysis methods to support test and failure investigations
  • Improve existing analytical capabilities while providing guidance to design and structural analysis engineers to improve the performance of designs
  • Communicate analysis results to the team
Requirements
  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering
  • 2+ years of experience in structural analysis utilizing FEM
  • Excellent understanding of structural analysis/mechanics
  • Ability to work effectively in teams
  • Ability to be self-directed and balance several tasks at one time
  • Ability to communicate analysis results effectively
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of ANSYS Mechanical
  • Knowledge of at least one programming/scripting language (Python/MATLAB/etc)
  • Experience with structural modeling of pressurized components, rocket engine hardware, or similar high-performance hardware
