Underground Roof Bolt Technician

The Roof Bolter plays a crucial role in ensuring the stability and safety of underground mining operations. This position involves the installation of roof bolts to support mine roofs effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Secure the ends of anchored truss bolts to maintain structural integrity.
• Drill bolt holes into ceilings at designated intervals as outlined in Mine Plans.
• Utilize hydraulic systems of self-propelled bolting machines to insert bolts into drilled holes.
• Remove drill steels from chucks post-drilling and complete the bolting process using appropriate wrenches.
• Ensure holes are drilled to specified depths, prepare resin for bolt placement, and test bolt tension with torque wrenches.
• Position safety jacks to uphold underground mine ceilings until bolts are securely installed.
• Install roof bolts at various angles within the mine roof and coal/rock ribs.
• Maintain equipment in a safe working condition while adhering to Company Policies, State Laws, and Federal Regulations.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Roof Bolter role.

Current certification in Underground MSHA Experienced Miner Training.
