Underground Roof Bolt Technician

The Roof Bolter plays a crucial role in maintaining the structural integrity of underground mines. This position involves various responsibilities aimed at ensuring safety and efficiency in mining operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Secure the ends of anchored truss bolts to enhance stability.
• Accurately drill bolt holes into ceilings at designated intervals as outlined in Mine Plans.
• Utilize hydraulic systems of self-propelled bolting machinery to insert bolts into drilled holes.
• Extract drill steels from chucks post-drilling and complete the bolting process using appropriate wrenches.
• Drill to specified depths, prepare resin for bolt installation, and verify bolt tension with torque wrenches.
• Position safety jacks to support underground ceilings until bolts are securely installed.
• Install roof bolts at various angles within the mine ceiling and along coal/rock ribs.
• Ensure all equipment is maintained in safe working order while adhering to Company Policies, State Law, and Federal Law.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Roof Bolter role.

Current certification in Underground MSHA Experienced Miner Training.
