Overview

The University of Virginia's Health System seeks a skilled Transportation Specialist to provide safe and efficient patient transport services during the evening shift. This role requires frequent standing, bending, and traveling while ensuring patient safety and productivity.

Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive hourly rate between $15.00 and $20.34 per hour, commensurate with experience. As an employee of the University of Virginia, you will have access to a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.

Job Responsibilities

As a Transportation Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing safe and efficient transportation of patients to their destinations
  • Maintaining a high level of productivity while minimizing idle time
  • Ensuring equipment is clean and in good repair
  • Verifying patient identity and destination before transport
  • Cleaning equipment after each use
  • Inspecting equipment and supplies upon receipt and prior to delivery

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must:

  • Have a High School Graduate or equivalent experience
  • Be able to lift up to 100 pounds
  • Pass the American Heart Association (AHA) Heart Saver AED Course within 90 days of hire

Working Environment

This role requires frequent standing, bending, and traveling. You may be exposed to chemicals, outdoor climate, blood/body fluids, and infectious disease.
