Job Summary

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) plays a vital role in ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care in the Emergency Department. As a key member of the management team, the CNC directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care, serving as a resource person for staff and modeling a commitment to the organization's vision and mission.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with admission and discharge processes to optimize patient throughput and care quality.
  • Participate in ongoing assessments of patient care services, collaborating with subject matter experts and other managers to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service.
  • Support a patient-first philosophy, engaging in service recovery when necessary.
  • Operationalize current nursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives, to enhance engagement and patient satisfaction.
  • Provide recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff, as well as implementing courses of action to ensure a competitively better organization.
  • Assist with staff scheduling, managing labor in accordance with patient care needs and productivity guidelines.
  • Support proper inventory control and manage supplies and equipment.
Requirements
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.
  • Registered Nurse Diploma.
