Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Pharmacist PRN to join our team at MercyOne Siouxland Medical Center. As a key member of our pharmacy staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective delivery of medications to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and interpret electronic and written medication orders to ensure clarity, accuracy, and safety.
  • Consult with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to clarify orders and ensure proper medication administration.
  • Supervise the preparation of patient medications, including controlled substances, IVs, and IV admixtures.
  • Direct and monitor the work of pharmacy technicians in packaging, labeling, and distributing medications.
  • Participate in drug therapy monitoring, including evaluating potential therapeutic duplication, drug-drug interactions, and other safety concerns.
  • Comply with OBRA standards for patient counseling on prescriptions.
  • Maintain accurate records and inventory levels, including perpetual inventory systems and invoices.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy and licensure in the State of Iowa.
  • Ability to work independently and make critical decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Basic typing skills and familiarity with computers and their functions.
