Healthcare Professional for Correctional Health

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will play a vital role in our team, providing high-quality patient care while adhering to the scope of practice outlined by the local state nurse practice act.

This full-time, night shift position at the Mecklenburg County Detention Center in Charlotte, North Carolina, offers a unique opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others. You will work closely with our experienced healthcare professionals to ensure that patients receive comprehensive care.

Responsibilities
- Implement nursing care within the LPN's scope of practice, including compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Assist in developing and implementing teaching plans tailored to individual patient needs, focusing on health promotion, maintenance, and restoration.
- Care for wounds with appropriate cleaning and dressing/bandaging, and administer medications as directed.
- Monitor vital signs and report changes to medical staff, documenting actions and medical records accurately.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must:
- Be a graduate from an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing program.
- Hold an active license as a Practical Nurse in the state of employment.
- Maintain current CPR certification.
- Stay informed about relevant state laws and regulations governing practice.
- Complete initial and annual clinical competencies to demonstrate aptitude as assigned by role.

Compensation
For this role, we offer a competitive hourly wage range of $30-34, commensurate with experience. We also provide a shift differential of $3-$4 per hour for second and third shifts, and an additional $4 per hour for weekend shifts.
