Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Building and Grounds Maintenance professional to join our team at Mission Foods. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for performing routine and extensive grounds keeping maintenance and building maintenance duties on all property buildings and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and extensive grounds keeping maintenance and building maintenance duties on all property buildings and facilities.
  • Make repairs to any building fixture, including walls, floors, doors, and ceilings.
  • Repair damaged walls, floors, and ceilings, and prepare and paint walls and ceilings as needed.
  • Complete building electrical work, including new outlets and lights, and minor repairs.
  • Unclog toilets and urinals, and replace toilet and urinal components.
  • Repair plumbing leaks of all types, including air, gas, and water.
  • Repair doors and windows as required.
  • Make improvements to buildings by making minor repairs and remodeling, including painting and laying tile.
  • Perform minor repairs and maintenance procedures on equipment used in grounds keeping.
  • Perform routine laboring and maintenance duties when grounds keeping work has been completed.
  • Follow all safety procedures and company safety policy.
  • Complete tasks indicated on work orders, inspections, and A.I.B. checklists as directed by supervisor.
  • Keep work area clean and perform cleaning of assigned area.
  • Assist in the training of new personnel.
  • Follow company, GMP, and safety policies to ensure compliance with the HACCP program and AIB gold standard.
  • Follow all food safety principles and legal requirements.
  • Maintain a positive and constructive work environment within the department and with other departments, and promote teamwork.
  • Work in a safe manner, observing all safety requirements.
  • Participate in monthly departmental meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with Building and Grounds Maintenance.
  • 2 years of experience in HVAC maintenance preferred but not required.
  • Freon handling certificate.
  • Successful completion of continuing education toward licensure/certification in HVAC trade.
  • Familiar with GMPs and AIB standards.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Able to work flexible hours, including holidays and weekends.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
