Position Overview:

The Director of Giving and Events is tasked with spearheading the fundraising initiatives and orchestrating significant events that resonate with the mission and principles of Columbus Catholic Schools.

This role encompasses the formulation and execution of strategies aimed at securing financial contributions, nurturing relationships with benefactors, and overseeing events that foster community involvement and bolster the financial objectives of the institution.

Key Responsibilities:

Fundraising:
Design and implement a holistic fundraising strategy, which includes annual campaigns, major gifts, planned giving, and special projects.

Identify, cultivate, and maintain relationships with existing and potential donors, including individuals, corporations, and foundations.

Collaborate with school leadership to pinpoint fundraising opportunities and craft persuasive proposals for prospective donors.

Maintain meticulous records of donor interactions and contributions, ensuring prompt acknowledgments and reporting.

Event Planning and Management:
Organize, coordinate, and execute a range of school events, ensuring they align with the institution's goals.

Work in partnership with volunteers, staff, and vendors to guarantee the successful execution of events, managing logistics, budgets, and timelines.

Reporting and Analysis:
Monitor and evaluate the success of fundraising activities and events, providing regular updates to school leadership and suggesting enhancements.

Ensure adherence to all applicable regulations and ethical standards in fundraising and donor relations.

Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred (e.g., nonprofit management, communications, marketing, business).

Demonstrated experience in fundraising, donor relations, and event management, ideally within an educational or nonprofit context.

A strong understanding of Catholic values and a commitment to advancing the mission of Columbus Catholic Schools.

Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the capacity to engage and motivate a diverse range of stakeholders.

Highly organized, with robust project management capabilities and attention to detail.

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Willingness to work some evenings and weekends as required for events.
