About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Estimator III to join our team at The Boldt Company. As an Estimator III, you will play a critical role in providing estimating services and expertise for various market sectors and contract delivery methods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare, plan, organize, and evaluate estimates to foster success through a OneBoldt approach.
  • Coordinate and oversee internal and external estimating resources.
  • Provide direction based on principles that support a collaborative and integrated project delivery environment.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and owner documents to establish scope of work contents for estimates.
  • Attend pre-bid and project meetings.
  • Prepare detailed and conceptual estimates, including working with self-perform to scope projects.
  • Perform takeoffs required for estimates.
  • Use OnCenter and coordinate requirements for BIM-generated estimates.
  • Prepare documents for specific deliverables.
  • Participate in the presentation of project estimates to project owners and other partners.
  • Complete the bidding process, including bid solicitation, bidders' communications, proposals evaluations, and bid evaluation.
  • Develop design options and recommend best solutions based on cost, engineering quality, or availability of materials.
  • Lead the preparation of all estimating and target value design functions for projects.
  • Provide the complete estimate for all material and construction equipment required to perform work.
  • Establish and confirm union labor costs for projects.
  • Manage bid solicitation processes, including management of bid documents and instructions to bidders.
  • Support buyout and smooth transition of turnover to project managers.
  • Assist project managers and financial managers in the continuous assessment of project risks and opportunities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or other related degree.
  • Five to eight years of estimating experience.
  • Knowledge of estimating processes and labor, material, equipment, subcontracting, general conditions, and requirements.
  • Experience in conceptual estimating.
  • Understanding of site and building systems, assemblies, and components.
  • Ability to coordinate support individual work effort.
  • Experience in Negotiated Guarantee Maximum Price (GMP) and Lump Sum (Hard) Bid type of projects.
  • Understanding and proficiency of construction coding in MasterFormat and Uniformat.
  • Strong understanding of Excel spreadsheets, database-based software, take-off software, and scheduling software.
