POSITION OVERVIEW

As a Senior Facilities Engineer within our Outpatient Medical division, you will play a crucial role in preserving and enhancing the quality of our healthcare properties. This position will oversee a portfolio of assets in the Phoenix, AZ area and its surroundings. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support the Operations and Real Estate Managers by executing special requests and projects as needed.
  • Assist the Operations Manager in prioritizing and monitoring Preventative Maintenance tasks and work order management for designated properties. Offer continuous feedback to team members to ensure compliance with specifications and maintain high tenant satisfaction.
  • Contribute to the Real Estate Manager in developing building budgets for assigned properties.
  • Facilitate initial and ongoing training for Associates as directed by management.
  • Collaborate with Sub-Contractors and Vendors to ensure work aligns with Welltower standards, minimizing disruptions to tenant operations.
  • Help oversee and coordinate capital improvement, tenant build-out, and property renovation projects as necessary.
  • Schedule and conduct general building maintenance, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC services, troubleshooting, and repairs.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of all required documentation and reporting.
  • Assist in implementing, training, and ensuring adherence to company Safety Policies.
  • Possess working knowledge to support property emergency preparedness plans.
  • Execute special requests and projects as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Tools and equipment necessary for this role include hand tools and power tools utilized in the repair and maintenance of building systems. Expect to use these tools approximately 60% of the time.
  • Adverse working conditions may include exposure to extreme noise, weather, hazards, fumes, etc. This role involves working both indoors and outdoors, in various weather conditions, and with electricity, rotating equipment, heights, and maintenance chemicals.
  • Physical demands include the ability to climb ladders and scaffolds, lift and carry heavy loads (up to 50 lbs.), and safely operate hand tools.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Some out-of-area and overnight travel may be necessary. Must be available for on-call duties as required and able to drive to various site locations, approximately 15% of the time.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Experience: A minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of building mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems is preferred. Previous supervisory experience is also preferred.

Education: A high school diploma or GED is required. EPA Universal refrigerant certification is required or the ability to obtain certification, along with other Mechanical Trade certifications in related fields.

ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

A valid driver's license is required, along with meeting company motor vehicle operator criteria.
