Position: Port Dispatcher - Savannah

We are seeking a skilled Port Dispatcher with a strong background in Port and Drayage operations to become a vital part of our team in Savannah. In this role, you will manage high-volume scheduling and dispatching, ensuring smooth operations for our owner-operators and third-party drivers. The ideal candidate will possess outstanding communication abilities, proactive customer service skills, and a knack for problem-solving in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the scheduling and dispatching of owner-operators and third-party drivers operating under Cargomatic's SCAC code.
  • Develop efficient routes to guarantee timely pick-ups and deliveries.
  • Foster strong relationships with Cargomatic's owner-operators and carriers.
  • Evaluate driver and vehicle capabilities for each haul request.
  • Monitor and trace shipments throughout the delivery process.
  • Address and communicate any issues, delays, or concerns regarding shipments.
  • Ensure precise and timely reporting and data entry.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to both carriers and internal/external stakeholders.
  • Utilize Cargomatic's proprietary software to manage daily operations and loads effectively.
  • Execute operational and administrative tasks as required.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience as a Port/Drayage Dispatcher is essential.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Strong understanding of logistics concepts, supply chain terminology, and dispatch best practices.
  • Capability to analyze complex situations and make informed decisions.
  • Exceptional communication skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to navigate objections effectively.
  • Proficient in multitasking and prioritizing daily responsibilities.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is advantageous.
