Job Summary and Qualifications
As an Endoscopy Registered Nurse PRN at Henrico Doctors' Hospital, you will oversee pre-operative and post-operative care for patients undergoing surgical and endoscopic procedures, including those related to gynecological, plastic, reconstructive, urological, and colonoscopy cases.
Your role will require a high level of technical skill and operational expertise in performing endoscopic procedures while also assessing and monitoring patients experiencing acute and chronic pain.
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled professional to join our exceptional team. Key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining accurate documentation to ensure accountability and precise billing.
- Managing inventory of supplies and medications while controlling costs and minimizing waste.
- Initiating and documenting patient education, including involving family members or significant others.
- Ensuring radiation safety during appropriate endoscopic and pain management procedures.
- Demonstrating knowledge of reprocessing endoscopes and related equipment.
Requirements
To qualify for this position, candidates must possess:
- A degree from an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
- A current Registered Nurse license in Virginia or a compact license.
- Current certifications in BLS, PALS, and ACLS.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in surgical services, preferably in endoscopy.
