Job Summary and Qualifications

The Endoscopy Registered Nurse will be responsible for pre and post-op care of surgical and endoscopy services, including gynecological conditions, plastic and reconstructive, urology, and colonoscopy patients. You will demonstrate a high level of technical and operational expertise in performing Endoscopy procedures and assess and monitor acute and chronic pain patients during procedures.

  • Accurate documentation to ensure accountability and precise charging
  • Anticipating and maintaining adequate inventory of supplies and medications while controlling costs and eliminating waste
  • Initiating and documenting patient teaching, including family and/or significant others
  • Maintaining radiation safety during endoscopy and pain procedures
  • Demonstrating knowledge of reprocessing endoscopes, accessories, and automatic washers

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred)
  • Current Registered Nurse license in Virginia or a compact license
  • Current BLS, PALS, & ACLS certification
  • At least 2 years of experience in surgical services, preferably endoscopy
