Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil or Environmental Engineer to join our EHS, Engineering, Construction & Remediation Practice team in the Greater Los Angeles Area. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent business development skills, and experience in building key client relationships.

This role will involve acting as project engineer for remediation projects, stormwater compliance, environmental regulatory compliance, air quality, and environmental construction. Additional responsibilities may include operating and maintaining environmental remediation systems, developing SWPPPs, conducting field inspections, sampling storm water and non-storm water, complying with NPDES storm water permits, and reporting.

The position requires expertise in air quality, hazardous materials and waste management, due diligence, and industrial wastewater. Design and operation of various in-ground and above ground remediation systems, evaluation of sampling data, and preparing required environmental reports are also essential tasks.

Responsibilities:
  • Preparation of construction and industrial stormwater SWPPPs.
  • Preparation of other NPDES related documents.
  • Compliance monitoring for construction and industrial stormwater permits.
  • Facility-related environmental regulatory auditing, permitting, reporting.
  • Prepare reports under the direction of a Senior Manager.
  • May be required to conduct site investigations, water sampling/monitoring, use automated equipment, and field data reporting.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities, and deliver responsive, high-quality services.
  • Review RFPs/RFQs and prepare proposals and statement of qualifications.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in environmental consulting.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in civil or environmental engineering.
  • PE Civil Engineering in California is desirable or the ability to pass the CA State PE exam.
  • Experience with Clean Safe water projects and Low Impact Development desirable.
  • QISP and QSD certifications in California is desirable.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing proposals and executing work.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must possess high safety awareness and be willing to adhere to all aspects of TRC's rigorous behavior-based health and safety programs.
  • Experience with stormwater BMP performance modeling is desirable.
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER training, including current refresher training is desirable.
  • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test and a company physical exam (indicating that there will be no restrictions for field activities or use of a half-face respirator).
  • Some travel, early start times and occasional night or weekend work will be required.

Compensation: $80,018 - $135,554 annually.
