Job Description:

Riot Games is seeking a skilled Principal Software Engineer, Engine to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership, design, and implementation of foundational systems for our Unreal game development environment. You will work closely with product and discipline leads to identify focus areas, handoff points, and provide the best solution for the development phase. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of data-driven design principles, experience shipping Unreal titles, and excellent debugging skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and contribute to technical design and implementation of foundational systems, including UI foundations, cross-platform support, CI/CD pipelines, artificial intelligence bots, art and gameplay tools
  • Collaborate with product and discipline leads to identify focus areas, handoff points, and provide the best solution for the development phase
  • Work closely with gameplay and backend teams to deliver foundational technology for the game product
  • Partner with designers and artists to create satisfying user experiences
Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of professional programming experience
  • Experience shipping Unreal titles
  • Strong knowledge of data-driven design principles
  • BS in Computer Science, or proven understanding of Computer Science fundamentals
  • Strong OO C/C++/C# programming experience
  • Excellent debugging skills
  • Experience collaborating with teammates across multiple disciplines
