Key Responsibilities

  • Execute set-ups with minimal oversight.
  • Oversee all aspects of part operation set-up to ensure first article acceptance within designated timeframes.
  • Conduct and maintain precise in-process quality inspections and documentation.
  • Identify and propose process enhancements to minimize part quality variation.
  • Record data in visual management forms and communicate results effectively to management.
  • Continuously seek to improve processes and eliminate waste.
  • Perform additional related tasks as required.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum of three years of experience in all phases of part operation set-up on various Manual Grinders and Hone equipment.
  • CNC/Technology/Machinist trade school certification is advantageous.
  • Proficient in using Air Indicators, Dial Bore Gages, Deltronic pins, Profilometers, and plate inspection methods, including first article and in-process inspection of precision machined components.
  • Ability to maintain required finishes and close tolerances (within inches) of I.D.s, O.D.s, roundness, perpendicularity, and concentricity.
  • Comprehension of machine tool accuracies, size offsets, tool pressures, and necessary tooling.
  • Knowledge of cutting tool feeds, speeds, and optimal tool life for aerospace materials.
  • Capability to follow verbal instructions and interpret blueprints and quality requirements in English.
  • Effective communication skills with both employees and management.
  • Physical ability to lift a maximum of 25 lbs. (more than 25 lbs. with assistance).
  • Experience with AS9100, 5S, Lean, and Six Sigma methodologies is preferred.
  • Reliability is essential; punctuality and minimal unscheduled absences are expected.
  • Stable work history is required.
  • This position is for the 2nd shift (3:30 PM - 12:00 AM) from Monday to Friday.
