Surgical Services Registered Nurse

Baptist Health Care is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our surgical services team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and education in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
Responsibilities- Assess and diagnose patient and family needs to provide quality care to assigned patients.
- Develop, discuss, and communicate a realistic problem list (plan of care) for each patient in collaboration with each patient/family/significant other to address all identified needs.
- Implement medical plan of care, nursing interventions, and procedures as necessary for the care of the patient.
- Evaluate the identified problems, care provided, and patient's responses to reassess and meet patient and family needs to ensure overall quality of care delivered.
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to ensure the integration of information for use by the health care team to ensure quality care.
- Maintain current knowledge/certification/licensure.
- Perform all responsibilities/duties required by the department as defined in the scope of service, to ensure that the unique nature of the client is addressed.
- Maintain supplies/inventory for department.
- May be required to act as charge nurse for on-call situations, holiday coverage, and/or as needed.
- Minimum Education: Technical Diploma/Certificate Nursing or Associates Degree Nursing Required. Bachelor's Degree Nursing Preferred.
- Licenses and Certifications: Registered Nurse Licensed State of Florida or eligible compact state Upon Hire Required. BLS for Healthcare Providers (BLS) American Heart Association Upon Hire Required.
- Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Demonstrated proficiency in acute care nursing, knowledge and skills. Must be able to return to the hospital/facility within 30 minutes of a Callback.
