Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Pharmacist to join our team at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering comprehensive pharmaceutical care to the adult acute care population, with a focus on oncology and hematology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical pharmacy services in intermediate care areas, including oncology, hematology, and stem cell transplant.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to select chemotherapy regimens and make dose adjustments.
  • Review and manage chemotherapy plans to ensure safe and accurate prescribing.
  • Monitor chemotherapy patients daily and ensure appropriate supportive care is administered.
  • Provide educational sessions and patient teaching classes as necessary.
Requirements
  • PharmD or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree.
  • Current pharmacist licensure by the Iowa Board of Pharmacy or eligibility to obtain licensure.
  • One year of applicable pharmacy experience, including ASHP-accredited pharmacy residency.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional experience working effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Inpatient clinical pharmacy experience.
  • ASHP-accredited PGY1 and/or PGY2 residency in pharmacy.
  • Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) certification in a relevant specialty area.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
