As a Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse, you will provide high-quality patient care, work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, and contribute to a positive and supportive work environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assessment and Diagnosis: Collect relevant patient health data, analyze assessment data to determine nursing diagnoses, and identify individualized expected outcomes for patients.
- Planning and Implementation: Develop and implement a Plan of Care that prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes, and evaluate and document patient progress toward attaining expected outcomes.
- Medication Administration: Administer prescribed medication and intravenous solutions in a safe manner, and report significant alterations in patient condition to physicians.
- Patient Education and Counseling: Counsel, educate, and include patients and their families in accordance with the overall plan of care, and assist patients and families in coping with stress accompanying illness.
- Quality of Care: Systematically evaluate the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice, and reflect knowledge of current professional practice standards, laws, regulations, and changes in healthcare delivery in daily practice.
- Education: Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
- Licensure: Licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Registered Nurse.
- Experience: Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers completion, and preferred experience with Meditech software/hardware.
