Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician II to join our team at ChristianaCare, a leading healthcare organization. As a Pharmacy Technician II, you will play a critical role in supporting the Department of Pharmacy Services with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and patient safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage hazardous and nonhazardous medication inventory, collaborating with the Pharmacy Supply Chain team to optimize stock levels and minimize waste.
  • Review expiration dates regularly to prevent errors and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare compounded sterile preparations using aseptic techniques and adhere to USP 797, USP 800, and other applicable regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with practice staff regarding medication availability and delays to coordinate patient appointments and prior authorizations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, verifying that supplies are within date and stored properly.
  • Order, receive, and restock CSP supplies to meet daily demands of the pharmacy.
  • Orient and train new pharmacy personnel to ensure seamless onboarding.
Requirements
  • High school diploma required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • At least 3 years of pharmacy experience required.
  • At least 1 year of experience in infusion or hospital pharmacy preferred.
  • At least 1 year of experience in sterile compounding preferred.
  • Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification required, unless enrolled in a PharmD program.
