Plant Operations Director

### Job Summary
As a seasoned professional, you will lead the plant operations at Summit Polymers, a leading Tier 1 Automotive Supplier of automotive interior systems. Your expertise in manufacturing processes, budgeting, and quality control will drive the plant's success in achieving safety, quality, cost, and delivery objectives.
### Key Responsibilities
* Direct and coordinate all plant activities to meet manufacturing operation objectives, including key metrics related to safety, quality, cost, delivery, and financial performance.
* Ensure a safe working environment through safe work practices, employee awareness, and proper 5S and housekeeping.
* Plan and manage plant resources, including personnel, capital equipment, and facilities.
* Develop and implement capacity planning activities, including assessment and update of plant sales forecast and population of corporate molding, painting, and assembly capacity tools.
* Promote the utilization of root cause problem solving using Practical Problem Solving (PPS).
* Manage and provide leadership to plant staff managers, including conducting daily staff meetings, clearly assigning responsibility for issues, and ensuring Plan-Do-Check-Act methodology is utilized.
* Ensure plant compliance to SPI systems and procedures supporting IATF 16949 Quality standard and ISO 14001 Environmental standard.
* Lead annual development of manufacturing plant budget and ensure plant adoption and compliance with corporate standardization initiatives.
* Develop and implement Talent Development initiatives to train and develop high potential employees for growth within SPI.
* Represent corporate management in matters of company philosophy, quality ethics, and personnel policies.
* Manage overall plant personnel activities, including hiring, promotion, demotion, transfers, and disciplinary actions.
* Manage plant customer relationships, including ensuring appropriate SPI to customer contact relationships are maintained.
* Ensure plant compliance to all local, state, and federal government regulations and reporting requirements.
* Work with Human Resources to assure a positive, constructive working environment built on honesty, fairness, integrity, and respect.
### Requirements
* Minimum of 5 years experience at a technical or management level.
* Knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures, budgeting and costing, quality control procedures, and human resource management techniques.
* 4-year degree or 7 years progressive experience in a manufacturing environment.
### Travel Requirements
This position typically requires less than 5% travel.
