Dragline Field Engineer

As an Electrical Services Specialist at Turner Mining Group, you will provide electrical engineering services to support various dragline manufacturers and other equipment in the mining industry. Your expertise will be utilized to troubleshoot complex and non-routine issues at customer sites, including metal, steel mill, power plant, and manufacturing facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Engineer and troubleshoot electrical systems, including vintage systems and the latest AC and DC drive systems, PLC, and HMI automation systems.
• Provide technical services, including setup, correlation of functions, and troubleshooting of Siemens and ABB AC & DC VDF drives.
• Utilize a DATAQ data logger to capture and compile XY recordings, complete detailed XY reports, and provide corrective action plans.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to control systems and their components at customer sites or locations.
• Maintain tools and test equipment properly and communicate with plant engineers and/or maintenance personnel at customer sites on technical questions and specifications.
• Provide after-hours support in person and/or over the phone and provide technical information and data for the creation of quotations and work scopes.
• Complete necessary service, time tracking, and expense documentation and identify and assist with repair and manufacturing training needs.
• Communicate clearly, concisely, and with accuracy to employees, customers, and vendors and observe all safety procedures and use proper safety equipment as needed.
• Maintain a clean, neat, and safe work environment at all times and operate and maintain equipment in a safe manner at all times.
• Promote a strong company image and maintain positive working relationships at all times, including professional behavior with customers, vendors, and co-workers on a daily basis.
• Provide outstanding customer service at all times and perform work according to established company policies and procedures.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
• Five to seven years of electrical engineering experience in industrial field service and/or similar industrial environment.
• Mining, mills, power plant, and manufacturing facilities experience preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLC) and/or variable frequency drive (VFD) systems for machine troubleshooting.
• Strong working knowledge of multiple industrial applications.
• Ability to take after-hours calls and work independently with little direct management.
• Strong math skills, including algebra, trigonometry, and analytical geometry skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills and strong problem-solving/troubleshooting skills.
• Strong time management skills with the ability to multitask while coordinating multiple high-level priorities.
• Strong knowledge of personal computers and Microsoft Office software.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend complex written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to understand, perform, and retain various job-related training, operational, and safety procedures.
• Ability to exercise initiative, judgment, and decision-making related to non-routine duties.
• Overnight travel required.
