Key Responsibilities

The Mortgage Advisor plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional real estate lending knowledge through financial guidance and product awareness to Credit Union members regarding their mortgage financing requirements. This position is responsible for generating high-quality mortgage loans by facilitating loan applications to support the organization's loan growth objectives.

Primary Duties
  1. Conduct financial counseling by interviewing, pre-qualifying, and guiding members through the mortgage loan application process. Time Allocation: 50%
  2. Oversee and manage a sales pipeline of mortgage applications that are in progress; maintain communication with mortgage operations staff to track loan status and outstanding conditions; assist in resolving underwriting conditions as needed; adjust loan terms and programs as necessary; monitor interest rate lock periods to prevent expiration; confirm closing figures with operations staff prior to loan closure. Time Allocation: 20%
  3. Establish and nurture relationships with the real estate and builder community to advocate for real estate loan programs. Represent the Credit Union at community real estate events and deliver educational presentations. Time Allocation: 20%
  4. Collaborate with branch lending staff regarding real estate programs and provide educational support to branches and members. Time Allocation: 10%
Qualifications

Education
High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience
Minimum of three years of experience in real estate lending preferred. NMLS registration is required upon hire.
