SpecPro Sustainment and Environmental, LLC is seeking an Architect to provide on-site Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) to support the Engineering and Design Division (D4) of the Design and Construction Business Line (DCBL) at Naval Air Station Jacksonville, FL.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide timely and professional architectural support, services, and consultation for Navy, Marine Corps, and other Supported Commands' facilities planning, design, construction, and maintenance.
  • Support specific projects, special projects, military construction (MILCON), demolition, maintenance, space utilization, and facilities development.
  • Participate in conferences with project stakeholders and collaborate with other engineering and architectural disciplines to ensure system coordination and integration with project requirements.
  • Offer input and feedback on third-party designs and provide recommendations for programming, space planning, concept design, development, sustainable practices, and codes compliance assurance.
  • Analyze furnished drawings and specifications, review cost estimates, and offer other required services.
  • Work as part of a Navy team supporting various facility types, including housing, community support facilities (dining halls, clubs, fitness centers, child development centers), medical facilities, education/training facilities, maintenance shops, industrial facilities, hangars, administration buildings, operations buildings (command and control centers), and other shore installation facilities.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years of professional architectural design experience for new construction, with a focus on code compliance and renovation.
  • 3 years of direct supervision experience with engineers and/or architects.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from a NAAB-accredited program preferred, supplemented by hands-on facilities design experience.
  • Proficiency in architectural concepts, theories, principles, and practices relevant to shore installation facilities projects.
  • Comprehensive understanding of all architectural design phases, including programming, space planning, concept development, sustainable design, compliance with codes and standards, and cost estimation.
  • Familiarity with DoD and Navy guide specifications, International Building Code, Life Safety Code, and industry standards.
  • Knowledge of local, state, federal, and foreign laws impacting architectural design within NAVFAC Southeast's area of responsibility.
Work Environment:
  • Availability to work on-site during standard 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday.
