The Occupational Therapist is responsible for assessing, planning, organizing, and delivering occupational therapy services in alignment with current federal, state, and local standards, regulations, and guidelines to ensure the highest quality of care is consistently provided. The therapist will maintain accurate, comprehensive, and timely documentation and records management while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, adhering to professional practice standards and ethical guidelines as established by the state board of occupational therapy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist Occupational/Physical Therapist Assistants by offering training and guidance to meet educational needs and enhance patient care.
  • Document all treatments provided in accordance with clinic protocols and prepare necessary records and reports.
  • Deliver appropriate therapeutic interventions and a comprehensive range of therapy services in response to patient referrals, ensuring safe and timely care.
  • Establish realistic and documented treatment objectives that align with the intentions of the referring medical professionals. Design and prepare written treatment plans based on patient evaluations.
  • Conduct manual exercises to enhance and sustain patient functionality. Guide, motivate, and assist patients in executing various physical activities, including non-manual exercises, mobility tasks, daily living activities, and the use of assistive devices like crutches, canes, and prosthetics.
  • Record treatment details, patient responses, and progress in patient charts and/or electronic systems. Educate patients and their families on treatment procedures to be continued at home.
  • Assess, fit, and modify patients' prosthetic and orthotic devices, recommending adjustments as necessary. Collaborate with physicians and other staff to gather additional patient information, propose revisions to treatment plans, and integrate occupational therapy with other aspects of patient care.
Qualifications:
  • A degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
  • A Baccalaureate or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from a program accredited by ACOTE.
  • A current, unrestricted license to practice as an Occupational Therapist in Washington State.
