Postdoctoral Researcher

We are seeking highly motivated Postdoctoral Scholars to join the Institute for Learning-enabled Optimization at Scale (TILOS) at the University of California, San Diego.
As a Postdoctoral Scholar, you will conduct research on the foundations of Artificial Intelligence and Optimization, with a focus on applications in chip design, robotics, and communication networks.
You will be based at UC San Diego, mentored by one or more researchers and PIs, and may spend up to one quarter per year at partner institutions: Massachusetts Institute of Technology, University of Pennsylvania, University of Texas at Austin, and Yale University.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, and a proven track record of research excellence.
The position is normally for two years and may include concurrent teaching in an academic department. Appointments and salary are commensurate with research experience and accomplishments following current UC San Diego guidelines.
Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)
PhD completed or nearing completion (CPhil) by time of application, in one of the following fields: computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, mathematics or a field related to optimization, chip design, robotics, or communication networks.
Additional qualifications (required at time of start)PhD conferred by time of appointment.
Preferred qualificationsExceptional, self-motivated candidates with outstanding research records are encouraged to apply.
Candidates with experience in teaching and/or contributing to an academic climate of equity, diversity, and inclusion, are preferred.
