We are seeking highly qualified Postdoctoral Scholars to join the Institute for Learning-enabled Optimization at Scale (TILOS) at the University of California, San Diego.
As a Postdoctoral Scholar, you will conduct research on the foundations of Artificial Intelligence and Optimization, with a focus on applications in chip design, robotics, and communication networks. You will be based at UC San Diego, mentored by experienced researchers and PIs, and have the opportunity to spend up to one quarter per year at partner institutions.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, and a proven track record of research excellence.
The position is normally for two years and may include concurrent teaching in an academic department. Appointments and salary are commensurate with research experience and accomplishments.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct research on the foundations of Artificial Intelligence and Optimization, with a focus on applications in chip design, robotics, and communication networks.
Collaborate with experienced researchers and PIs to develop and implement research projects.
Spend up to one quarter per year at partner institutions, including Massachusetts Institute of Technology, University of Pennsylvania, University of Texas at Austin, and Yale University.
Teach and mentor students in an academic department, if desired.
Requirements
PhD completed or nearing completion in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
Strong background in Artificial Intelligence and Optimization, with a focus on applications in chip design, robotics, and communication networks.
Proven track record of research excellence, including publications and presentations.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
